The 5th International Conference on Energy and Electrical Power Systems (ICEEPS 2026) Successfully Concluded in Lanzhou!

From July 24 to 26, 2026, the 5th International Conference on Energy and Electrical Power Systems (ICEEPS 2026) was successfully held in Lanzhou. This edition was co-sponsored by Lanzhou Jiaotong University and IEEE Power & Energy Society, hosted by the School of New Energy and Power Engineering, Lanzhou Jiaotong University, and strongly supported by Chang'an University, Lanzhou University of Technology, Lanzhou Institute of Technology, Shaanxi University of Technology, Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Wuwei Vocational and Technical University, Lanzhou Bowen College of Science and Technology, Gansu Electrotechnical Society, Gansu Energy Storage System and Operation Control Technology Innovation Center, Gansu International Science and Technology Cooperation Base for Energy Internet Technology and Equipment R&D, Gansu Collaborative Innovation Industry Technology Center for Transportation-Energy Integration, Gansu University New Energy and New Energy Equipment Manufacturing Industry Research Institute, and CCCC First Highway Bureau Group Electric Engineering Co., Ltd.

On the morning of July 25, the conference grandly opened. The opening ceremony was presided over by Professor Xin Li, Dean of the School of New Energy and Power Engineering, Lanzhou Jiaotong University. Professor Zhe Chen of Aalborg University, Denmark, Chair of the Conference, delivered an opening address via video link. Subsequently, Professor Haifeng Huo, Vice President of Lanzhou Jiaotong University, delivered a welcome speech on behalf of the organizing committee, extending a warm welcome to all guests, experts, scholars, and industry colleagues. Huo Haifeng noted that Gansu Province is located in the core area of China's large-scale wind and solar bases in sandy, Gobi and desert areas, boasting significant advantages in new energy resources. This conference aims to deepen international academic exchanges in the field of energy and electrical power systems and accelerate the industrial transformation of cutting-edge technological achievements.

Following the opening ceremony, the conference entered the keynote speech session, presided over by Professor Shuaibing Li, Vice Dean of the School of New Energy and Power Engineering, Lanzhou Jiaotong University. On the afternoon of July 25, the conference featured five special sessions, focusing on "Advanced Energy Storage Technology and its Application," "Advanced Utilization Technologies for Renewable Energy," "Multiphysics Simulation Technology and Its Application in Electrical Equipment," "Advanced Power Electronics Technologies and Applications," and "Frontiers in Electrical Insulation Application Technology for Power Equipment," respectively. Professor Rong Feng of Shaanxi University of Technology, Associate Professor Qingshan Ma of Lanzhou Jiaotong University, and Associate Research Fellow Yijie Liu of Southwest Jiaotong University served as session chairs. Invited speeches were delivered by Research Fellow Xiaomin Liu of Gansu Natural Energy Research Institute, Associate Research Fellow Ye Liu of Xi'an Jiaotong University, Associate Professor Xiuzhen Li of Henan University of Science and Technology, Associate Professor Jun Ma of Lanzhou Jiaotong University, Lecturer Shucan Cheng of Xi'an University of Technology, Associate Research Fellow Qingxin Tian of Southwest Jiaotong University, Lecturer Sheng Ren of Xihua University, Associate Professor Qingyu Wang of Xi'an Jiaotong University, Associate Research Fellow Yijie Liu of Southwest Jiaotong University, Associate Professor Chen Chen of Xi'an Jiaotong University, and Associate Research Fellow Changding Wang of Southwest Jiaotong University. In addition, several young scholars presented oral reports. The on-site exchanges were enthusiastic with a strong academic atmosphere.

During the conference, an award ceremony was also held. The conference specially established five awards: Outstanding Organization Award, Best Paper Award, Best Student Paper Award, Best Poster Award, and Best Oral Presentation Award. After rigorous evaluation, the certificates were presented to the winners by Professor Haiying Dong, Chair of the Conference and Vice Chair of IEEE PES Lanzhou Chapter, Lanzhou Jiaotong University; Professor Shujie Huang, Party Branch Secretary and Dean of Zhongke Low-Carbon New Energy Technology College, Wuwei Vocational and Technical University; Professor Erchao Li, Dean of School of Automation and Electrical Engineering, Lanzhou University of Technology; Professor Xin Li, Dean of School of New Energy and Power Engineering, Lanzhou Jiaotong University; and the chairs of each special session. The presentation of these awards not only recognized the academic achievements of the winners but also inspired and encouraged the innovative spirit of all participating scholars.

The successful convening of ICEEPS 2026 built a high-level academic exchange platform for scholars in the field of energy and electrical power systems.
